Apollo Fire Detectors has designed and manufactured fire detection devices in Havant, UK, since 1980 and is part of Halma plc. Its detectors are used with many different control panels around the world, because Apollo publishes its communication protocol and keeps its ranges backwards compatible.

ZE-Tronics supplies Apollo detectors in Azerbaijan and designs, installs and maintains the systems they belong to.

Apollo addressable ranges

  • Soteria — the latest generation, with advanced optical sensing; Soteria Dimension is a flush-mounted version for interiors where appearance matters.
  • Discovery — built on XP95 technology, with selectable response modes for different environments.
  • XP95 — the long-established range that many existing systems use.
  • XP95 I.S. — intrinsically safe detectors for hazardous areas, connected through approved barriers.

Backwards compatibility means an existing XP95 system can often be extended or upgraded with newer devices without replacing the whole loop. We confirm compatibility with your panel before supply.

Conventional detection

For smaller, zone-based systems Apollo offers conventional ranges such as Orbis. Whether conventional or addressable is right depends on building size and complexity — see addressable vs conventional fire alarm systems.

Detection in hazardous areas

Industrial sites often have a mix of safe and hazardous areas. With XP95 I.S. detectors, an addressable system can extend into a Zone 1 or Zone 2 area through intrinsically safe barriers, instead of using separate explosion-proof devices. The design has to respect cable parameters and the area classification — see our articles on hazardous area zones and Ex marking.

Panels and integration

Apollo detectors work with many panels that support the Apollo protocol, including Kentec Syncro and Taktis panels. We plan loops, isolators and addresses, program the panel and test every device at commissioning.

Frequently asked

Apollo Fire Detectors in Azerbaijan — questions and answers

Where can I buy Apollo detectors in Azerbaijan?

ZE-Tronics supplies Apollo addressable and conventional detectors, bases, call points and interfaces. Send us the part numbers or the panel type and we will confirm compatibility.

Are Soteria detectors compatible with my XP95 system?

Apollo designs its ranges to be backwards compatible, which usually allows Soteria or Discovery devices on an existing XP95 loop. We confirm compatibility with your panel before supply.

Can Apollo detectors be used in hazardous areas?

Yes, with the XP95 I.S. intrinsically safe range connected through approved barriers or isolators. The design must follow the intrinsic safety rules for cable parameters and zone classification.

Which panels work with Apollo detectors?

Many panel manufacturers support the Apollo protocol, including Kentec. We check the protocol and loop capacity when designing the system.

How often should detectors be tested?

Fire alarm systems are usually serviced at least every six months, with every detector functionally tested within each year. Local regulations and the building's fire strategy may require more.
