Kidde is one of the oldest names in fire protection. Today the name appears on a wide range of equipment — from addressable fire alarm systems to engineered gas suppression for machinery spaces — made by more than one Kidde business. For a buyer in Azerbaijan, that means it pays to work with a supplier who confirms exactly which product line, approvals and support apply to each item.

ZE-Tronics engineers, supplies, installs and maintains Kidde detection and suppression systems, and checks every specification against the manufacturer’s current documentation before we quote.

Kidde fire detection

Kidde Commercial detection and alarm systems, including the EXCELLENCE Series, are designed for commercial and industrial buildings, with addressable panels, smoke, heat and multi-sensor detectors, call points and interfaces. For guidance on system choice, see our article on addressable versus conventional fire alarm systems.

Kidde special-hazard suppression

Where water would cause as much damage as the fire, a gaseous system is the usual answer. The choice of agent depends on whether people can be present and on what is being protected:

Agent How it works Typical use
Clean agent (FK-5-1-12, HFC-227ea) Absorbs heat from the flame Server rooms, control rooms, archives
Inert gas Lowers oxygen below the level that supports combustion Data centres, occupied technical rooms
Carbon dioxide (CO2) Displaces oxygen and cools Unoccupied machinery spaces, turbine enclosures, industrial processes

Each system needs more than cylinders and nozzles. The room must hold the gas long enough, which is proven by an integrity test; the release must be controlled by a panel with pre-discharge warning, hold and abort functions; and CO2 systems need lock-out and safe-entry procedures. We explain the design in our guide to gaseous fire suppression.

What ZE-Tronics does

  • Selects the agent and system type for each room and calculates agent quantities
  • Designs detection and releasing control, often with Kentec extinguishing panels
  • Carries out room integrity tests and specifies pressure relief
  • Supplies, installs and commissions the complete system
  • Provides inspection and maintenance, and coordinates cylinder recertification

Kidde systems are part of our work in power generation, industrial and infrastructure projects. Contact us with room sizes and use, and we will propose a solution.

Frequently asked

Kidde in Azerbaijan — questions and answers

Which Kidde products do you supply?

We supply Kidde fire detection and Kidde special-hazard suppression equipment. Several companies manufacture under the Kidde name today, so for every project we confirm the exact manufacturer, part numbers, approvals and lead times before quoting.

Which gas should protect a server room?

Where people may be present, a clean agent such as FK-5-1-12 or an inert gas is normally chosen. CO2 is effective but dangerous at extinguishing concentrations, so it is reserved for normally unoccupied spaces with strict safeguards. Our article on gaseous suppression compares the options.

Why is a room integrity test needed?

Gas suppression works only if the room holds the gas at the design concentration long enough. A door fan test measures leakage and predicts the hold time, and shows whether sealing or pressure relief is required.

Can you service an existing Kidde system?

Yes. We inspect detection, control and cylinders, check pressures and release mechanisms, update records and coordinate cylinder recertification or refilling where needed.

How is the suppression system triggered?

Usually by two independent detectors (coincidence detection) through an extinguishing control panel, which sounds a pre-discharge warning and provides hold, abort and manual release functions.
